Features
Everything Jarmer does, by the job it does.
A to-do list for real life: the chores, the life admin and the someday list, for one to four people. Most of it happens on your lock screen. The app is the back office.
On your lock screen
Your one next thing, with Done right there.
The dot in our logo is your one next thing. Most days, the lock screen is all of Jarmer you'll need.
Notifications with buttons
Done, Snooze 3h, Tomorrow, Hand off. Done comes with Undo and a thanks. After three snoozes, Jarmer asks if you still want it.
Widgets
Your next thing on the lock screen, a tap to tick it off. The whole of Now on your home screen, with your energy for the day.
Live Activities
Start something and a timer keeps you company in the Dynamic Island, with Done and Keep going. Time blocks show there too.
The evening digest
One notification with tomorrow's plan. Too much for one day? It offers a smaller version, and you can shuffle it without opening the app.
A few a day, each with a reason
At most 8 a day by default, quiet hours from 9:30pm to 8am, and your Focus modes respected. Recent notifications shows why each one came, with Fewer like this.
No badges, no inbox
No red number on the icon and no feed to clear. Swipe a notification away and nothing's lost: everything lives on Now or in a list.
Now
One thing at a time.
Now shows one card, Next up, with On deck behind it. Tomorrow doesn't exist until tonight.
Next up and On deck
One card in front, a couple waiting behind. When today has more than fits, the rest wait quietly for another day.
Your move
A strip on top for anything waiting on your answer: hand-offs, offers, “Can we get this?”. One line each, with its buttons.
Three moves on everything
Push it to tomorrow or the weekend, drop it (Jarmer checks you still want it), or hand it off.
Sized to your day
A busy calendar means a smaller plan. Low on energy? The low-energy and two-minute things come first. Got room? Jarmer asks “Want one?”, and never adds more without asking.
Break it down
Stuck on something big? Jarmer splits it into a first step you can do now.
Your calendar, read only
Jarmer reads your calendar to size the day. It never writes to it, and there's no calendar to manage.
Capture & the brain dump
Get it out of your head, from anywhere.
Say it, type it, snap it. Jarmer sorts it, so capturing never turns into organizing.
The brain dump
Everything on your mind, in any order. Jarmer sorts it: one thing for Now, the rest put away where it belongs. It's the first thing you do in Jarmer.
Something new, everywhere
The + on every screen, Siri, the Action Button, a Control Center button, the share sheet and your Watch. Capturing never has to open the app.
Voice and photo
Talk instead of typing, or snap the thing itself (the dripping tap, the parking sign) and sort it later.
To sort
Anything that needs a decision waits in To sort, on Plan, until the weekly reset. One small pile, sorted once a week.
Just a thought
Not everything is a task. Thoughts go to your notes on Me, where they're yours alone.
It spots the big ones
Mention “we're moving June 14” and Jarmer offers to plan the move.
Chores
Chores that come round when they need doing.
No rigid days and no pile-up. Each chore gets due at the pace it really happens in your home, and takes turns through everyone.
Getting due
Each chore's dot goes from sage to ochre to ember as it gets due. Never red. Skip a week and nothing stacks: it starts again from when it's done. Need a hard limit for something that really can't wait? Set one.
Take turns
Turns rotate through everyone, in the order you joined. Or pick a person, anyone, or let Jarmer choose.
Honest, not aspirational
Setup asks “How often does this actually happen now?”, not how often it should. Tell it about your place (rooms, pets, plants, the car) and it suggests the chores.
House care, by the season
The things nobody remembers: smoke alarm batteries, the furnace filter, the gutters, flipping the mattress. Spread over the year, with a heads-up.
Routines
Morning, leave-the-house, bedtime: a few steps, one at a time, full screen.
Rough week
One switch: seven days of the smallest version of everything, and Now holds three things at most. Two low check-ins in a row and Jarmer offers it. It never turns on by itself.
Fair, without keeping score
If someone's been carrying more, the weekly reset offers to swap one take-turns chore. Once, and only if you want to. No tally of who did what.
Together
Requests, never reports.
Anything that needs another person is a question they can answer with one tap. On your own? It stays out of your way.
Hand off
Ask someone to take something. They can take it or say not now, right from the notification.
Trade
Swap a chore just this once. The turns carry on as before.
Thanks
Tap thanks when someone does something, and they feel a little buzz. That's it. No points.
Your move
Everything waiting on your answer, in one strip on Now. One line each, gone once answered.
Offer three
Can't decide on dinner? Offer three and let someone else pick, run a quick poll, or let Jarmer spin for you.
“Can we get this?”
Ask before you buy and get a yes or a no. This or that, and ratings, for everything in between.
House rules
Each of you answers alone, five minutes each: chores, reminders, dinner, when to reset. Then see where you already agree. The result is settings, not a personality type. Someone not in yet? Pass the phone.
Doing it now
Start something and the others can see you're on it, on their lock screens. It's easier to join in than to start alone.
Goals
A goal-finishing system, not a goal-setting app.
Most goal apps help you set goals. Jarmer helps you finish them.
- Say it in your own words. Jarmer works out the shape and drafts a few small steps.
- One next step on your lock screen, today. The card shows that step and how many are left, never the whole tree.
- Steps paced to your date: “6 steps to go, about one a week”. The next one reaches Now on its own when it's time.
- Your why, right next to the step, on the low days.
- “Make it smaller” when you're stuck.
- Someday for the bucket list, so it's kept without being on your mind.
Every shape of goal
A few times a week
“Run three times a week.” Each week starts fresh, with nothing carried over from the last.
A ladder that only goes up
Start small and step up after a few goes. Progress only climbs, and on a hard day the floor still counts. Apple Health can log it for you.
A project
Fix the deck, sort the spare room: a handful of steps, one at a time.
Savings
A pot with a target and the next step to get there. “Work it out” helps you pick the number.
Someday
The bucket list. Kept, waiting, and off your mind until you're ready.
Plans drafted for you
Say the goal and Jarmer plans it: a shape, a why, three to seven steps and the first one on Now. You adjust, then accept.
Plus · your first plan is on usMoments
Big things come with lead times nobody tells you about.
A Moment is a plan worked backwards from a date. Give Jarmer the day and a few answers (renting? pets? driving or flying? how many guests?), and each thing reaches Now when it's time, for whoever's doing it.
Moving
Including moving in together, or a new roommate. The movers, the packing, the deposit cleaning, the utilities and the change of address, spread over the weeks before.
Hosting
A holiday, a party, guests staying. The lists, the recipes, who's doing what, and the turkey that needs four days in the fridge.
A trip
The packing list, someone for the plants and the mail, and a plan for coming home: unpack, laundry, restock.
Next time starts from your version
Afterwards, keep what worked as chores or notes, and the whole thing is saved to the house manual. “Last Thanksgiving you borrowed chairs from Sam, and you ran out of ice.”
Fitted to you
Jarmer fits the plan to your date, your place and your answers. On Free, you get the plan as written, one Moment at a time.
Plus · your first one is on usThe week
Fifteen minutes, once a week.
The weekly reset is where the week gets sorted, together or on your own. Miss the slot and there's a two-minute version.
Sort what came in
Clear To sort, pick what matters this week, and let the rest wait.
See how it's going
Momentum is a trend in words, like “busier than last week”, never a number to beat. Wins from your journal show up here.
Plan
The week at a glance: what's coming, Moments in progress and the backlog, without a calendar to keep up.
Rhythms
The things you do on a rhythm, like date night or a week of meals, suggested when it's time.
Time blocks
Block out time for something and it shows as a Live Activity while it's on.
Drafted for you
Jarmer drafts the reset from your week, so it's a few taps instead of a meeting.
Plus · your first one is on usLists & food
Decide dinner, get the groceries, cook it.
Not a meal-planning app. Just the three parts that actually need help.
The grocery list, by aisle
Shared, live and sorted by aisle, with doubles merged. Free, with no limit, for good.
Wishlist and Favorites
Gift ideas, places to try, the meals and restaurants you love. Add a restaurant with a quick nearby search.
Cook mode
One step at a time, a timer for each, and the screen stays on.
Recipes you actually make
Bring one in from a link, a photo of a recipe card or Safari's share sheet, and what's missing goes on the list by aisle. Free keeps ten, typed in.
Plus · your first import is on usFill a list
“Camping weekend.” “Taco night.” Jarmer fills in what you'll need.
Plus · your first one is on usCook with…
What can we make with what's here? Your own meals first, then new ideas.
PlusDates that matter
The days that sneak up, with something to do about them.
Keep the dates in Jarmer and get a heads-up you can act on, not just a reminder that it's Friday.
A heads-up with a next step
“Mom's birthday is Friday. Pick something from your Wishlist?”
Birthdays and anniversaries
The days you celebrate, for everyone at home, so nobody's caught out.
The once-a-year ones
Lease end, car registration, passport, open enrollment: the dates that only matter once a year, until they really matter.
The house manual & How do I…?
Your home's memory, and answers that come with buttons.
Where the water shut-off is, the paint colors, the wifi for guests. Write it down once and find it when you need it.
The house manual
Pages and photos for how your home works. Moments are saved here when they're done, so next time is easier.
How do I…?
Ask, and Jarmer looks in your manual first, then your Moments, then our guides, then general knowledge, and says where each answer came from.
Answers with buttons
Put these steps on Now, add these to the grocery list, save this to the manual. One tap and it's done.
Guides & tools
Our guides and calculators (emergency fund, debt payoff, moving costs and more) show up next to the things they help with.
Look it up
A note on a task or a place, with where it's from: opening hours, how to, roughly what it costs.
Plus · your first one is on usDraft it
The email to the landlord, the note to the school: a first draft for the task in front of you.
Plus · your first one is on usMe
A private journal that sizes your day.
Everything on Me is yours alone. A check-in takes a few seconds, and it changes what Jarmer asks of you today.
Check-ins
How you feel and how much you've got today. A low one means a lighter Now: the low-energy and two-minute things.
Notes worth keeping
Thoughts, wins, ideas and decisions. Link one to a goal, and later ask “Why did I decide to…?”
A trend, not a score
A quiet weekly trend, in words. No streaks, and nothing about the days you didn't check in.
Your own corner
Your goals, rhythms, routines and self-care live here too, apart from the household's.
Apple Health, if you like
Write your mood to Apple Health's State of Mind, or tap it straight from the morning note.
Privacy
Shared where it helps, private where it counts.
A home has things everyone should see, and things that are nobody else's business.
Private tasks
Mark anything private and it never reaches anyone else's phone.
The journal is yours alone
No feature that faces another person ever reads it, and a low mood never pings anyone.
AI, only if each of you says yes
Everyone is asked for themselves, and the household's AI help is on only once everyone has said yes. Nothing you write is used to train AI models.
On your phone
Location and Apple Health data stay on your phone.
No ads, nothing sold
We don't show ads or sell data. Export everything or delete your account from the app or your account page.
The details are in our privacy policy.
Extras
Out in the real world, too.
Jarmer meets you where things happen: on your wrist, at the washer, by the door.
Apple Watch
Your next thing as a complication, notification buttons on your wrist, and capture by voice.
Siri & the Action Button
“Capture in Jarmer” asks what, saves it, and never opens the app. Shortcuts work too.
NFC tags
Stick a tag on the washer or by the litter box, and tap it with your phone to mark the chore done.
Places
A reminder when you get somewhere. Your location stays on your phone.
Home Assistant
When Home Assistant says the washer's done, a task goes to whoever's home.
PlusMake it yours
Every palette, light and dark, and app icons to match.
PlusGet Jarmer
Less reminding. More getting it done.
